   Dr. Irina McKeehan Campbell joined National University as Professor in Community Health.. She is Director, Center of Excellence for Health Sciences  Research and Education Data Management & Biostatistics Core, School of Health and Human Services at NU. She is the Project Evaluator for the "Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention – Interprofessional Collaborative Practice”,  HRSA Grant , PrincipaI Investigator is Dr. Gloria McNeal, Dean, SHHS, National University. Dr. Campbell is a member of the Executive Leadership Taskforce facilitating the partnership between National University and Planetree, Inc., an international patient-centered health advocacy group that guides "healthcare providers, across the continuum, with practical approaches to transform their organizational structures, processes and ultimately the culture of the organization" to become patient centered. 

   Dr. Campbell completed a Doctorate in Social Medicine at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in NYC, as well as a M.P.H. in Health Policy and Management. She holds a Certificate from Harvard University in Geocoding of Health Disparities, and is a Professional Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor's in International Affairs from the University of Hawaii. She received a Fulbright Scholar in Global Health Award in 2006, and subsequently spent nearly 2 years teaching evidence-based public health in Central Asia. As a Fulbright Scholar, she evaluated the United Nations UNICEF Kazakhstan Country level Youth Friendly Services Program. For UNICEF Kyrgyzstan, Dr. Campbell evaluated the National Survey of Knowledge, Attitude, HIV Prevention and Behavior/Life Based Skills and Health Education (KAPB). She provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Healthy Lifestyle Center, delivered capacity-building workshops with USAID for the Post-Graduate Institute of Family Medicine.

   She held an appointment as a Visiting Scholar and Associate at the Harriman Institute, School for International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University of New York, and has served as principal investigator and project director on a number of state and community health surveys in health inequity and inequality. She designed and conducted international public opinion polls in Russia and the Ukraine. Dr. Campbell was contributing Editor, Cultural Competencies, Hispanic Health Care International, and has presented on global routes of HIV transmission, health-related quality of life and multilevel health models at NY Academy of Medicine, Harvard University, the World Health Organization (WHO) Athens, UNESCO Paris, the Royal Statistical Association (UK), and several other international conferences. She was a Ford Foundation grant recipient as Editor for a Special Issue of Social Science and Medicine, Health Crisis in Eastern Europe and Russia.

   Dr. Campbell served as Director of Clinical Development and Quality Care for a national Hospitalist Program, where she implemented a performance improvement program and provided training workshops in quality improvement for physicians and Clinical Care Coordinators. Dr. Campbell is married to an USMA Army officer and has spent over 25 years on a variety of domestic and international military bases, where she was involved with Army Family Services for soldiers and continues to actively support veteran programs.
