Dr. Owen is a Clinical Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, and a faculty member, School of Medicine, Office of Continuing Medical Education. In this role, he serves as the Associate Director, Center for Academic Strategic Partnerships for Interprofessional Research and Education, serves as a Co-PI for an IPE project entitled "Bridging the Gap: Developing, Implementing, and Assessing the Impact of Innovative Undergraduate Interprofessional Education (IPE) Experiences Based on Collaborative Care Best Practice Models,” funded by the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation, and serves as a CME Project Manager.
Prior to this role, Dr. Owen served as Research Director for the Center for the Advancement of Generalist Medicine at the University of Virginia. Dr. Owen has been published and has presented on a wide range of medical education subjects with an emphasis in Interprofessional Education and Interprofessional Practice. He earned his Doctorate Degree in Education, and Masters Degrees in Epidemiology, Educational Administration, and English Education, all from the University of Virginia.
