I have the privilege of leading several initiatives to advance interprofessional education and practice and in doing so, have worked alongside amazing colleagues who are committeed to providing the very highest quality for everyone who experiences health care - patients, clients, caregivers, and communities.  I have the utmost respect for everyone who works in this area.  We are working diligently at the Ohio State University to lead innovation in interprofessional practice and education and through that, we aspire to be valued as one of the top academic health centers in the United States.

My professional background is physical therapy and my clinical practice areas of expertise are orthopedics, musculoskeletal assessment, and geriatrics.  I have worked in multiple ambulatory care, acute care, long term care, and home health rehab settings.

I came into academics in response to a growing need for physical therapy providers by establishing a new physical therapist assistant program in central Kentucky and from that was invited into a faculty position at the University of Kentucky where I worked for several years – first as physical therapy faculty then as a university administrator overseeing distance education and ultimately moving into family medicine education and faculty development before being asked to establish the University of Kentucky's Center for Interprofessional Health Education, Research and Practice.  From there, I was invited to join colleagues at the University of Indiana to do the same thing.  Different times, different work, same passion.

My formal training beyond physical therapy includes a masters and EdD in educational administration and instructional systems design.  I work actively in several organizations at the national level including the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine, the National Academies of Practice, and the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative, and the Big Ten Academic Alliance Interprofessional Education Working Group.  I also enjoy working at the gloabl level through Interprofessional.Global and InterprofessionalResearch.Global.
