This activity created by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is designed to educate healthcare providers with current information on opioid tapering. The target audience includes all healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals. By the end of this activity, learners should be able to: (1) Identify evidence-based practices for tapering opioids in patients using chronically; (2) Discuss cases of opioid tapering; and (3) Describe currently available tools tailored to help the busy clinician with opioid tapering. Continuing education credits are available upon completion.
