This lecture (36:21 minutes) is presented by Dr. So Yeon Sharon Lee, Assistant Professor in the College of Optometry and Chief of Low Vision and Geriatric Service at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Lee discusses the impact of chronic health conditions on eyes in the elderly population. By the end of this lecture, learners should be able to: (1) identify common causes of vision loss in elderly; (2) describe the effect of chronic use of systemic medications on eyes; (3) understand blindness and visual impairment; and (4) describe the impacts of vision loss.
