Join Dr. Jill Thistlethwaite and Dr. M Nawal Lutfiyya in a discussion about the nature of interprofessional competencies, the trend towards competency-based education and its impact on interprofessional education.

About the Series

The Journal Club is an ongoing series that encourages conversation. Each session highlights recent research and its immediate application. Participants are encouraged to discuss the research across professions in both practice and education.

The basis of the discussion is Dr. Thistlethwaite's June 2014 article in Academic Medicine in which she and her co-authors highlight the need for further discussion around: 

• Establishing a common interprofessional language
• Strengthening the ways in which academic environments work with practice environments
• Improving the assessment of interprofessional competencies and teamwork, including the development of assessment tools for collaborative practice

At the end of the presentation, Dr. Thistlethwaite will participate in a question and answer session with webinar attendees.
