This presentation (1:29:00 minutes) given by Laura C. Feemster discusses Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) with special considerations for older adults. By the end of the presentation, learners should be able to: (1) identify management strategies for dyspnea that are evidence-based and have the potential to improve outcomes and quality of life for older patients with COPD; (2) review inhaled medications used to treat COPD, with particular attention to common barriers to adherence and potential adverse effects among older patients; and (3) discuss the potential impact of specific treatments, including pulmonary rehabilitation and oxygen therapy, on mobility among older patients with COPD. Presentation slides are available to download on the link.
