Older Adult Issues for 988 and Crisis Call Centers

The introduction of the new 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline allows for a number that is easy to remember and easy to dial. As such, it is expected that calls will continue to increase, including calls by older adults and their family caregivers.
Thus, call center staff must be prepared to understand and meet the needs of older adult callers.

Each 15 minute module includes:
- Key information for crisis call center staff about unique aspects of older adult mental health and substance use

Credit Designation Statements
For Psychologists:
Rush University Medical Center designates this enduring material for 1.50 CE credits in psychology.
For Social Work:
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Rush University Medical Center is approved to offer social work continuing education buy the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved continuing education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.50 general continuing education credits.
