IHI Resource: Focusing on Equity at Every Step of Your Age-Friendly Health Systems Journey
Submitted by Minnesota North... on Feb 20, 2025 - 3:37pm CST
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) published a resource designed to help Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) increase the equitable and reliable implementation of the 4Ms (What Matters, Mobility, Mentation, and Medication) for all older adults and complements other resources on equity developed by IHI and partners. The tool incorporates insights from the AFHS Advisory Group, previous and ongoing equity-focused work at IHI, and the increasing global recognition of the impact of bias and systemic racism on health and care. It provides a "recipe for equity in the 4Ms," as well as providing possible actions to address existing inequities. Health care teams can find the resource under the "Ensuring Equity in Age-Friendly Care" section on IHI's Resources to Practice Age-Friendly Care page.
