This brief video (5:44 minutes) from the UCLA Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Video series discusses the importance of home safety when caring for older adults. It depicts a common scenario where a caregiver encounters a situation of a patient's home being unsafe. It then provides a common caregiver response to this scenario followed by an expert explanation of why this happens. Finally, it discusses a new recommended response for the caregiver to consider when handling this type of situation.
