This online course for nurse educators discusses the national family caregiving crisis and the need for a paradigm shift in the education of health care professionals. It examines the development of the interprofessional family caregiving competencies and the family caregiving domains of preparedness (collectively referred to as "the competencies"). Educational opportunities using evidence-based resources to integrate family caregivers into the health care team and prepare them for their vital roles will be developed. The course is online, 1-hour in duration, and self-paced. Completion of the course results in 1.0 Continuing Education Unit (CEU). The course is free to access after creating a free account on the National League for Nursing website.
