Please join the OECRD on Wednesday, November 20th at the Biomedical Research Tower for the 2013 Celebration of Medical Education Scholarship.  Registration opens at 7:30am in the Biomedical Research Tower Lobby.  The theme for this year will be "Celebration of Medical Education Scholarship: Inspiring and Delivering Interprofessional Education."  Our keynote speaker for this year will be Barbara F. Brandt, PhD from the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center.  Dr. Brandt is one of the nation’s foremost experts in interprofessional practice and education and more details will be coming soon regarding her keynote address.

Brandt's lunch plenary session titled, "Interprofessional Education: On the Way to Best Practices" will discuss how interprofessional education and collaborative practice have a fifty year history of ebbs and flows of interest as what some would call a "magic bullet" for fixing the care delivery system.  In the past several years because of a variety of forces, interest is again high that by educating health professionals together, we will improve our health care system and ultimately the health of the nation.
