Win May is currently a Professor in the Department of Medical Education, and the Director of the Clinical Skills Education and Evaluation Center. Dr. May is a distinguished faculty fellow of the USC Center for Excellence in Teaching, and a member of the AAMC RIME Program Planning Committee. She is a member of the California Consortium for the Assessment of Clinical Competence and the American Medical Association Learning Environment Study Advisory Committee. She is an instructor in the Masters of Academic Medicine program, in the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Program and has been a faculty mentor in the Professionalism and the Practice of Medicine (PPM) course since its inception. Prior to joining USC in May 2000, Dr. May worked for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, and in New Delhi. She was the founding Dean of the Institute of Nursing in Myanmar.
Her areas of research interest are in clinical skills assessment; simulation, standardized patients, and virtual patients; inter-professional education; stigma and bias; and empathy in medical education
