Orly Calderon, PsyD., a New York State licensed psychologist, has been teaching and practicing psychology since 1994. She is an Associate Professor at LIU Post, where she teaches courses in psychopathology, research design, and assessment of adults and children. Dr. Calderon’s research reflects her clinical interest in at-risk populations. She has utilized her expertise in empirical approaches to study immigrant youths, youths with ADHD, individuals with disabilities, and people with chronic illness, as well as to evaluate best ways to teach future mental health professionals about the needs of these populations. Her work, published and presented across the USA and internationally, emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and practicing, helping to integrate professional expertise to best meet the complex needs of various client systems.
