I am the Founding Director of the Interprofessional Education and Resource Center (IERC) and AHC Simulation Center. I am also a Graduate Faculty member in the College of Education and Human Development and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. I began my career as a medical anthropologist, working with interprofessional health teams to develop more effective prevention strategies targeting HIV/AIDS. I just completed a 5-year research project funded by the CDC to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of an interprofessional disaster-preparedness simulation workshop for health science students and practitioners. I regularly present at national and international simulation and interprofessional education conferences and publish, especially with colleagues in nursing and medicine.
