Moving Toward the Nexus: Getting Comfortable with Uncomfortable Questions

Tuesday, September 12, 2023

11 am - 12 pm Central Time

Following ten years of learning as the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, we have much to reflect upon as we look ahead to the next ten years.  From our inception, we understood that to truly transform health care for health outcomes that incorporate interprofessional work, it would take a bold vision.  We stand by that bold vision and celebrate the accomplishments that have clarified and strengthened that vision. But we are in a very different environment than we were ten years ago.  We are also more comfortable asking the uncomfortable questions necessary to take up to the next level.

September marks the beginning of new conversations and engagements that further illustrate our new perspectives. An important part of those conversations is the release of a Journal of Interprofessional Care special issue, Living in the Nexus: Lessons Learned from the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education. The special issue is a collection of three papers and an editorial authored by the National Center that expand upon its philosophy, learning model and lessons learned, as well as featured papers by partners from the country that have been implementing and evaluating aspects of the National Center model and approach.  The special issue will be open access for the month of September and can be accessed on this page beginning September 1, 2023.

Join us for a webinar on Tuesday, September 12, 11 am - 12 pm Central Time with Barbara F. Brandt, PhD, senior advisor and founding director of the National Center,  to learn more about her reflections and insights as we head into our second decade focused on knowledge-based leadership for the next generation of interprofessional leaders.
