Interprofessional Practice Symposium: Transforming Theory into Practice

Overview: 

The goal of the Interprofessional Practice Symposium is to promote collaboration between academics, the clinical practice community, and health care organizations to highlight aspects of collaborative practice with a focus on academic and practice models that lead to improved patient experience, outcomes and safety.

The Symposium begins Wednesday, June 1st with the Complimentary Premiere ofChange of Heart: An Interprofessional Preceptor Education Mini-Series developed by Texas Tech University.

On Thursday, June 2nd a full-day of activity will bring together leaders from healthcare education, delivery and support services to share, examine and discuss interprofessional practice models.

Objectives: 

  • Learn from local and national innovators who put interprofessional practice ideas to work.

  • See how collaborative models are being implemented in multiple practice and training settings.

  • Learn how Interprofessional Teamwork can improve patient safety.

  • Identify ways to implement IPP to improve the customer experience and more engaged patients.
