2017 ASAHP Conference Gains AIHC Affiliate Conference Designation
The 2017 Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) Conference has been designated as an American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC) Affiliate Conference, meeting the high-quality standards set forth for advancing Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Collaborative Practice (IPCP).
The conference will take place in San Antonio, Texas at the Marriott Riverwalk Conference Center from October 18-20, 2017.
AIHC designation is determined by certain criteria that support interprofessional education and collaborative practice across disciplines in increasing efficiency and effectiveness of delivery systems that promote team-based, patient/family-centered health care. The mission of ASAHP aligns with the AIHC mission to transcend boundaries helping to transform learning, policies, practices, and scholarship toward an improved system of health and wellness for individual patients, communities, and populations.
This conference provides a great opportunity for scholars and advocates in the area of IPE and IPCP to intersect and connect with decision-makers at academic and health care institutions. It also provides the opportunity for ASAHP to be clearly identified nationally and internationally as an organization that is committed to promoting and supporting IPE and IPCP.
The theme of this year’s conference will be: “ASAHP at 50 - Reflections on the past, a window to the future of healthcare.”
Interested parties are invited to contribute to the program by submitting abstracts to be presented in one of two formats:
- Paper Presentation during a 40-minute Concurrent Session, or
- Poster Presentation during a two-hour Poster Session.
(ASAHP reserves the right to make a final decision regarding whether a presentation will be made in the form of a paper or poster.)
