Executive Director, Simulation Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC)

The Executive Director of the TTUHSC Simulation Program is responsible for the administration, strategic planning, management, and leadership of the TTUHSC Simulation Program, a multiple site, SSH-accredited simulation program. With simulation centers in Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, and the Permian Basin, the Executive Director will set the vision for the Simulation Program to serve the TTUHSC mission. The TTUHSC Simulation Program serves to meet the needs of the TTUHSC community (Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions, Population and Public Health, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences) and partners with local and regional entities to serve the health care needs of West Texas. Primary responsibilities include developing strong relationships and collaborating with key TTUHSC stakeholders in developing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based educational, assessment, and research activities. The Executive Director is also responsible for activities specific to the TTUHSC Simulation Program business, strategic, and sustainability plans, including oversight of the simulation budget and funding model, management and staffing of the various simulation centers, faculty and staff development, and communication and marketing strategies. Required Qualifications
Master's Degree required, terminal degree preferred. Nine years progressively responsible management experience required. Education beyond the master's level may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in simulation-based health professions education at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as well as a proven record of effective administrative experience in SSH-accredited simulation programs. The candidate should have a significant understanding of simulation program governance, policy development, and continuous quality improvement. The candidate should demonstrate a history of building effective teams, promoting collaboration across complex systems, and an overall commitment to high quality health care for all. Current and/or previous leadership at the state, national, or international levels is strongly desired.

  • Doctoral degree preferred
  • Holds a CHSE or CHSOS certification or recognized as a Fellow in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)
  • Five years of simulation-based teaching experience
  • Five years of progressive leadership and/or administrative experience in simulation
  • Proven record of effective administration in health professions education is preferred
  • Must be competent in simulation pedagogy
  • Demonstrated fluency in business planning and budgetary processes
  • Demonstrated success in strategic and sustainability planning
  • Knowledge of SSH Accreditation criteria and demonstrated history of successful SSH Accreditation
  • Recognized nationally as a leader in the field of simulation
